It is hoped that you are never a victim of any crime and maybe one of the tips we provide will help you. This time of year you
have to be extra careful, as we tend to be busy and at times lax in protecting our property. ALWAYS REPORT ANY SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY to the
police department. If you see an unfamiliar vehicle or persons on your street and it just doesn't look right give us a call. Remember we are a
diverse community with many different cultures so please know your neighbors and be familiar as to who visits them. When you go out leave a
light and a radio or the TV on and make it look as if someone is still home. Try not to set a pattern with lights on a timer with always the
same lights on, also vary the lights to confuse anybody that might be watching. BE A GOOD NEIGHBOR AND WATCH OUR FOR THEM. If you go away have
someone pick up your mail or stop it and also have someone put your garbage cans away. Keep your shrubs and bushes low enough so no windows or
doors are blocked.
When you go shopping beware of your wallet or purse and keep it in sight at all times. When using your credit card keep that in sight and
DOUBLE CHECK YOUR RECEIPT AND YOUR MONTHLY BILLS. If you should notice a charge that you did not make, contact the bank immediately. Unless you
know whom you are talking to NEVER give out your social security number. NEVER, NEVER let anybody into your house. Check all identification
for PSE&G, water, cable and anybody else. If you did not call for service or somebody knocks on your door offering a service call the police.
REMEMBER IF A DEAL SOUNDS TO GOOD TO BE TRUE IT'S NOT TRUE!!. If you are responsible for a parent or senior citizen have them call you before
they make any deals, many people try to take advantage of them with various scams. We will try to post any information regarding possible scams
or other items of importance in our F.Y.I section. When in doubt call the police. |
